Anua Heartleaf 77 Toner Review: Is It Worth the Hype for Sensitive Skin?
If you've been on skincare TikTok lately, you've probably seen the Anua Heartleaf 77 Soothing Toner everywhere. I was curious too — so I picked it up, and honestly? I get it now.
As someone with sensitive skin, I'm always a little nervous trying new products. But this one surprised me in the best way.
What's in It — and Why It Matters
The star ingredient is 77% Heartleaf Extract. Heartleaf is a plant that's been a staple in Korean skincare for a long time, mostly because of how well it calms and soothes irritated skin.
What I also appreciated right away: no added fragrance. For sensitive skin, fragrance is one of the biggest triggers for redness and breakouts, so seeing a clean, minimal formula was a green flag from the start.
My Honest Experience
The texture is light — much lighter than most toners I've used. It absorbs right away with no stickiness at all, which I really love. Some toners leave that slightly tacky feeling on the skin, but this one doesn't.
What surprised me most is that it almost feels like a toner and essence in one. It's hydrating enough that I don't feel like I'm skipping a step, but still lightweight enough that it doesn't weigh down my skin.
My Favorite Way to Use It: Layering
This is where the Anua toner really shines for me.
On days when my skin is feeling dry or there's a lot of flaking and rough texture, I apply it two to three times before going in with my moisturizer. Each layer just sinks right in, and by the time I apply my cream, it absorbs perfectly — no pilling, no product sitting on top of my skin.
That for me is the biggest selling point. There's nothing more frustrating than spending money on a good moisturizer and watching it ball up or sit on the surface because your skin wasn't ready for it.
Who I'd Recommend This To
If you have sensitive, combination, or oily skin — especially if you deal with redness, a damaged skin barrier, or skin that reacts easily — I really think you'd love this.
It's also great if you like layering your skincare because it plays nicely with everything. I use it both morning and night without any issues.
One thing to keep in mind: if you have very dry skin and you're looking for deep, rich hydration, you'll still want a heavier moisturizer on top. This toner is more about calming and prepping your skin than deeply quenching it.
So Is the Hype Real?
Yes — I think so. Not because it does everything, but because it does one thing really well: keeping your skin calm and balanced every single day.
The best skincare products aren't always the ones packed with 10 active ingredients. Sometimes it's the one your skin just quietly gets along with, morning after morning. For me, this is that product.
If you've been on the fence, I'd say go for it — especially if your skin is on the sensitive side.
